American Fox Terrier Club

Founded in 1885, the American Fox Terrier Club was the first specialty club to become a member of the American Kennel Club in 1888. The AFTC promotes the breeds of pure fox terriers; defines precisely the true type and to urge the adoption of such type by breeders, judges, dog show committees and others as the only recognized standards by which fox terriers should be judged, and does everything possible to protect and advance the interest of the breeds. Wire Fox Terrier Club of the Central States

Established in 1944, the Wire Fox Terrier Club of the Central States is the only club in the United States dedicated solely to the Wire Fox Terrier! Our members come from all parts of the country and gather every year for our specialty show in Ohio each May.  We are breeders, exhibitors and owners of Wires and as WFTCCS members, subscribe to a strict code of ethics. Our AFTC National Specialty show is held each October in Pennsylvania. Read more


Great Western Terrier Association of Southern California

The Great Western Terrier Association conducted its first show in Los Angeles at Elysian Park in 1966. The purpose of the show was to showcase terriers on the West Coast by combining terrier breed club dog shows together on the same site. Great Western served in the capacity of the central or "umbrella" organization that performed the mechanics of conducting the joint terrier show. Terrier breed clubs representing Airedales, Bedlington, Fox, Kerry blue, Lakeland, Miniature Schnauzers, Scottish, Skye and Welsh Terriers participated as charter members. Read more


Fox Terrier Club of the United Kingdom

In 1876, the Fox Terrier Club was "sworn to foster, encourage, and develop" the then most popular of all terriers. Mr. Harding Cox was appointed Honorary Secretary. It is thought that the Fox Terrier Club is the oldest breed club in the Terrier Group. Subscriptions raised to provide a suitably impressive 'Challenge Cup' to be offered for Best Fox Terrier (Wire or Smooth). Read more
